Architect, Evert Kolpa
The project called Boomrijk was designed by Evert Kolpa, architect and co-founder of Van Bergen Kolpa Architects. He says: “The homes fit perfectly into a forest landscape. For example, the roof is designed as a canopy, with leaf-shaped roof tiles in the colours of autumn. These colours were specially designed for Boomrijk. The facade, with its thick, coarse stone, resembles the bark of a tree. Living in a forest is about wood. We wanted to reflect this in the appearance of the homes. That is why the frames and other parts of the facade are made of fine, light, sustainable Accoya® wood with a visible wood structure. It is a beautiful, natural combination.”
