Oregon Pine: Quality and Stock Update
The availability of Oregon Pine in fine grain and quarter sawn quality has been under pressure for some time now. This is due to the lack of logging permits, a consequence of the current policy of the Biden administration, which affects all wood species.
However, there is currently roundwood available, mainly from trees that have been affected by forest fires and storms. Unfortunately, the quality of this is often poor, with smaller diameters and infestations by pests.
